Do I need email addresses or an account?
No. You only type first names. The draw runs in your browser and each person's result is packed, encrypted, into the part of their link after #, which browsers never send to a server. Send the links on WhatsApp, Telegram, SMS or any chat.
How do I stop couples drawing each other?
Under Exclusions, press Exclude next to a name and pick who they must not draw. With "Both ways" ticked the rule works in both directions, which is what you want for partners and siblings. If the exclusions leave no possible draw, the page tells you who is stuck.
Can the organiser see who got whom?
The page never lists the matches, but you create the links, so you could open someone else's link and see their match. A Secret Santa only stays secret on trust. For full secrecy, use pass-the-phone mode or leave the organiser out of the draw.
What if someone loses their link?
Nothing is saved anywhere, so a lost link can't be recovered unless the organiser still has the tab open and sends it again. Otherwise make a new draw and send everyone new links.
How do we do it in a WhatsApp group or remotely?
Don't post the links in the group - each one is personal. Press WhatsApp next to each name to send that person their own link in a private chat. It works the same for remote teams and family abroad.
How many people can join, and what budget is usual?
From 3 to 100 people. Most groups set a limit of about $20-50 for friends and offices; families often go higher. Write the budget in the details and it appears in everyone's link.
