Runs on your device. Nothing is sent.

Voices on this device: 0 · languages: 0

Read any text aloud with the voices already on your device - pick a voice, speed and pitch, follow along sentence by sentence. No sign-up.

Paste an article, an email or your own writing and hear it read aloud. The page uses the speech voices built into your phone, tablet or computer, so it works without an account and your text never leaves the device. Choose a voice by language, slow it down or speed it up, change the pitch, and follow the highlighted sentence as it's read - tap any sentence to jump there. The voice is picked automatically to match the language you paste.

Frequently asked questions

Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Only voices that run on your device are offered, so the text is turned into speech by your own operating system. Some browsers also have online voices (Chrome's "Google" voices, Edge's "Online (Natural)" voices); they are hidden unless you switch them on, and the page tells you that they send the text to the browser maker.
Why do I see fewer voices than on other sites?
Many text-to-speech sites send your text to a cloud service and play back the result. We only use the voices installed on your device, and leave out online ones by default. Windows, macOS, iOS and Android all let you add more voices for free in their speech or accessibility settings.
Can I download the speech as an MP3?
Not here. Browsers play device voices straight to the speakers and don't let a web page record them, which is also why nothing has to be uploaded. If you need a file, your operating system's screen or audio recorder can capture the playback.
Which languages can it read?
Any language your device has a voice for - usually dozens on phones and recent computers. The counter under the voice list shows how many voices and languages your browser offers right now.
