Discount calculator

In the EU, shops must state a discount against the lowest price of the last 30 days (Directive (EU) 2019/2161). This is not legal advice.

You pay

$80

You save $20 (20%)

Enter a price and a discount to see what you pay and what you save. Stack up to three discounts and a coupon, or enter the old and new price to get the real discount percentage. Everything is calculated in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Is 50% + 20% off the same as 70% off?
No. The second discount applies to what is left: 100 → 50 → 40, so the effective discount is 60%.
How is a discount percentage calculated?
(Old price − new price) ÷ old price × 100.
How can I tell if the earlier price was inflated?
Enter the product's lowest price of the last 30 days; the tool shows the real discount against it. In the EU, shops must announce discounts against that price.
Is the coupon taken off before or after the percentage?
The tool applies the percentage first and the coupon after it. If your shop does it the other way round, the result can differ.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs entirely in your browser.
