Work out the tip and split the bill between friends - pick a percentage, round each share up, and see exactly what everyone pays, down to the cent.

Type the bill, pick a tip percentage and say how many of you are paying - the tip, the total and each person's share appear as you type. Round every share up to a whole amount so nobody has to dig for coins, or round the total up for a cleaner card payment; the page shows what the tip really comes to after rounding. When a bill doesn't split to the cent, it tells you exactly who pays a cent more so the shares still add up. The table compares common percentages at a glance.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I tip?
It depends on the country. In the US 15-20% at a sit-down restaurant is usual, with 18-20% now common. In much of Europe and in Turkey around 10% or rounding up is normal when service isn't included. In Japan and Korea tipping isn't expected. Check whether a service charge is already on the bill.
Should I tip on the amount before or after tax?
Etiquette guides usually say before tax, but many people tip on the total for simplicity. To tip on the pre-tax amount, type the bill without the tax and add the tax back in your head - the difference is small.
What does rounding each share up do?
Every person's share is rounded up to the next whole amount, and the extra goes to the tip. The page shows the real tip percentage after rounding so you know how generous you've been.
Is anything saved or sent anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser. Only your last tip percentage, head count and rounding choice are remembered on this device for next time.
