Which time zone does the countdown use?
Your device's clock. New Year starts at your own midnight, and the page shows the time zone it is using under the counter.
Can I share my own countdown?
Yes. The date and title are written into the link, so anyone who opens it sees the same countdown. No account is needed.
Does it keep counting when the page is closed?
It is worked out from the target date each time, so whenever you open the page you see the right time left.
What happens when the date arrives?
The counter stops at zero and shows "Today!". You can then count to the same date next year.
Does a screen reader read it out every second?
No. Only the day count is announced, and only when it changes.
